Description:
The American pianist and composer Howard Hoagland 'Hoagy' Carmichael was considered the creator of the so-called 'white man's blues' which he mainly used as part of the music he wrote for a series of films. However, these songs were made very popular by all kinds of singers and musicians later on. Peter Kleine Schaars arranged Carmichael's most famous tunes in this fine musical portrait of Hoagy Carmichael for wind band. You will certainly recognise successively Skylark, Georgia on my mind, Stardust and Up a lazy river.
