Description:
Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" (1816) is one of the greatest of all comic operas. Based on an excellent play by Beaumarchais, "The Barber of Seville" delights audiences with its keenly sketched characters, melodic elegance, rhythmic exhilaration, superb ensemble writing and original en delightful orchestration. In the Opera, the cavatina "Largo al Factotum" is sung by Figaro , the barber of Sevilla, in the first act of the opera: he tells the world of his hard life being the factotum (handyman) of the city. This aria is besides the overture the most famous part from the opera. In this arrangement is the virtuous vocal part played by the Euphonium.
