Description:
The composition is upbeat, dynamic, the notes dance. It does not want to tell a story, but rather to create a state of serenity and lightness. Through the mischievously playful motifs, "In the Air" expresses something consistently cheerful, light-hearted, positive. The piece seems like a light breeze, a breath of fresh air. Gerald Oswald was born in 1968 in Groß-St. Florian. He completed his training as a trumpet player at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Later he continued his studies in conducting and composition, among others with Franz Cibulka at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory in Graz, with Thomas Doss at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien, at the Musikschule Leonding and at the Conservatory C. Monteverdi Bozen. His compositions for wind orchestra are successfully performed worldwide.
