Description:
This piece is a tribute to three great composers: the first movement is written in the style of Duke Ellington. The orchestration is colorful. The rhythm and melody are typically African - i.e. wilder, less "gentle". This movement can also be performed separately, for example as an introduction to a light music concert. The second movement is "Count Basie" (Lil' Darling). The same rhythmic structure, the same light-hearted melody. I imagined myself walking with this melody in my head, then crossing a park where musicians were playing rock. Then we move away and the melody returns. The third movement: Leonard Bernstein. A symphonic mambo, as you can hear it in many musicals. This last movement can also be performed separately. This piece has only one aim: to entertain!
