Description:
In the late 1980s, I was part of the staff at a summer camp for young musicians. Each camp lasted a week and included both specialized lessons and various group activities for all participants. One of these was the "Musical in a Week." I wrote the music for about eight of these musicals, and this melody comes from one of them. Even back then, I thought it deserved to be revisited someday—and now, 35 years later, it’s getting that chance. I can’t remember much of the lyrics anymore, but I do recall that it was a song that poked fun at a series of TV commercials for instant coffee, in which a couple gradually developed a romance. Something drew me to you, somehow, even though I barely knew you. One day we’ll see how our story ends.
