Description:
The composer Franz Tradler dedicated the "Kamnitz Polka" to his grandmother Herta, who spent her childhood in Kamnitzleiten in Bohemia (near Saxon Switzerland) in the early 1930s. The Kamnitz is a right tributary of the Elbe in northern Bohemia. Derived from the Slavic "kamenný", which means "stony".
The "Kamnitz Polka" musically processes thoughts and memories of childhood in Bohemia, childhood love, expulsion after the war and reconciliation in the new homeland of Bavaria - with vocals. The arrangement of this beautiful polka was written by Berthold Schick.
