Description:
When the composer Kurt Gäble collected his first ideas for a polka for the new eXplora series "EGER light", he quickly realized that this piece had to have its very own character. It should not only be playful, light and cheerful, but above all compact in every respect and therefore perfectly suited to the framework of the new series. While searching for a suitable title, Gäble finally came across the similarity between his first name and the manageable playing time of his latest composition: an excellent title was found in KURTS POLKA! This title not only alludes to the length of the work, but also contains all the typical ingredients that make Kurt Gäble's works so unmistakable and unique. In addition to Bohemian Polka, Fast Polka, Moravian Polka and March Polka, a short polka is now also part of the oeuvre of the successful artist from the Allgäu region.
RUNDEL eXplora "EGER light"
With "EGER light", the music publisher RUNDEL presents a new series for youth wind orchestras that aims to give young people access to traditional wind music. The instrumentation is based on the successful eXplora series, but has been expanded to include a second flute, a second alto saxophone and a two-part harmonic accompaniment part. This can be played by various instruments such as trumpet, horn, trombone, tenor horn or baritone. It is also possible to add a piano and/or accordion to the wind section. For this purpose, a correspondingly notated part with additional chord symbols is included in the sheet music edition.
