Description:
Without a doubt, the slow movement LARGO from the 9th Symphony 'From the New World' is one of the most moving works by Czech composer Antonín Dvorák. The theme, performed in the original by an English horn, is probably one of the best-known classical melodies.
With this edition of the popular eXplora series, this soulful music is now playable for youth wind orchestras. The arranger Alfred Bösendorfer has succeeded excellently in creating a practical adaptation, in which he addresses the requirements and circumstances of a youth orchestra, while at the same time remaining close to the original.
This wind arrangement of Dvorak's famous LARGO is also excellently suited for any orchestra for basic musical work on phrasing, sound, intonation and interplay - and offers an ideal resting point within a concert program.
The soloistic melody is optionally playable with alto saxophone or trumpet.
