Description:
This beautiful aria from Rinaldo by Handel is a masterfully arranged character piece for concert band!
Lascia ch'io pianga is an aria from the opera Rinaldo by Georg Friedrich Händel.
It was the first opera he wrote during his London period and was a great success in 1711, much due to the fact that the lead was sung by one of the most famous castrati of the era, Nicolo Grimaldi. Today it is most often performed by counter-tenors or mezzo-sopranos. It's been used in many films, such as Farinelli and Lars von Triers Antichrist.
