This paraphrase of the song by Hans Georg Nägeli is perfect for sacred concerts or as an accompaniment for a church service. The arrangement captivates with its simple structure, which gives the listener a feeling of familiarity.

Hans Georg Nägeli (1773 - 1836):
Hans Georg Nägeli was a Swiss music teacher, publisher and composer. He grew up as the youngest son of the pastor and musician Hans Jakob Nägeli in Wetzikon in the canton of Zurich and sang as a boy in the Wetzikon Singing Society, an important source of inspiration for his later work. Hans Georg Nägeli mainly created vocal music and was one of the pioneers of choral singing in his home country. His "Freut euch des Lebens", which is sung in the Netherlands as "Oh, kom er eens kijken", became popular. In his work as a publisher, it is particularly noteworthy that he published Johann Sebastian Bach's "Das wohltemperierte Klavier" for the first time in 1801.

Peter Schad (*1952):
Peter Schad comes from Bad Wurzach in Upper Swabia and is a conductor and composer. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Music Corps 9 in Stuttgart for two years as a trombonist, before studying at the Stuttgart University of Music and performing with many ensembles. Among other things, he was tenor horn player with Robert Payer and his Original Burgenlandkapelle for seven years. In 1983, he founded the Oberschwäbische Dorfmusikanten. In addition to his activities in the field of brass music, Peter Schad was a choirmaster for many years. With "Lobt froh den Herrn" he has taken on the well-known song by H.G. Nägeli and created a paraphrase for wind orchestra from it.
