Description:
The 'March Opus 99' was composed by Sergei Prokofiev in 1943-44 for a Soviet military band and first broadcast on the radio from Moscow on April 30, 1944. It is not a typical march, but rather a lively and energetic work with some dissonant harmonies and rhythmic contrasts. The march is original scored for a Russian military band without oboes, bassoons and saxophones.
Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak now transcribed this 'March Opus 99' for a modern Symphonic Band.
