Description:
Carlos Chavez conducted the first performance of Oberatura Republicana (Republican Overture) in 1935, and in 1963, he made a version for wind ensemble and renamed it Chapultepec after the park in the center of Mexico City. The first section, titled Marcha Provinciana, features the Zacatecas March from 1891 by Genaro Codina.
