The piece was written for Martine Kristoffersen Dramstad, whom I have had the pleasure of having as a soloist on trumpet and flugelhorn on several occasions.The reason I composed Martine was that at one point we couldn't quite agree on which solo piece we should choose for the next concert, whereupon Martine said, Can't you just write a new piece then? I laughed a little at that then and there, but the idea eventually took root and I decided to follow her request to compose a completely new piece.In the process, I tried to bring out the soloist's unique character and personality. I chose to keep the working title as the final title.
