Description:
Mission: Europa – Jupiter's Moon: An Ocean World is an epic orchestral work by Belgian composer Peter Knockaert, inspired by NASA's Europa Clipper mission. The music follows an interplanetary journey to Jupiter's moon Europa – under whose ice crust a huge ocean is suspected, perhaps with conditions for life. The work is divided into six musical stations: A New Day of Hope and Glory – A hopeful prelude that symbolizes the joy of discovery and a spirit of optimism. Ready for Launch – The excitement rises at the countdown – energy and anticipation. In Space! – The leap into space: vastness, silence, uncertainty.
Floating – A floating, tranquil section of weightless beauty.
Jupiter – Massive, majestic – the gas giant appears in full size. Europa – Ocean of Water – Arrival at the destination: An icy moon with an ocean waiting under its surface – with unknown secrets. A homage to the human spirit of exploration – sonorous, visionary and full of wonder about the universe.
