Written for the 42nd Altea International Competition in Spain. Paella usually serves Spaniards to gather and celebrate parties. The work describes the process that rice takes since it matures and is harvested until it arrives at the table to eat. All themes are linked to a leitmotif consisting of four notes taken from the title of the score.
