Description:
This arrangement of the polka fast "Ohne Sorgen" op. 271 (1869) was commissioned by the "Stadtkapelle Liezen" (Kpm. David Luidold, Obm. Michael Fröhlich). The aim was to bring the woodwind and brass players, but also the percussionists, briefly into the limelight during the course of the piece and to deliberately contrast their characters. The main theme of the polka therefore initially moves from "woodwind" to "brass" and is also heard in the percussion section before the main sections reunite at the end to form a full orchestra. The orchestra thus presents itself in a fine, discreet manner in addition to its full strength and the chamber music component comes to the fore over long stretches.
