The young Spanish composer Ferrer Ferran studied with Jef Penders and became conductor of the symphonic band of the Valencia Conservatory of Music. He wrote this thrilling pasodoble torero as an homage to the famous toreador Julian Melero 'Toronto'. It is a welcome addition to this traditional repertoire which still engenders a lot of enthusiasm with both musicians and audiences.
