Although Orion is a slow march, its slow tempo is by no means passive or ponderous; on the contrary, it radiates natural optimism and spontaneity. The rather simple composition is versatile and orchestrated in such a way that it can also be played by smaller formations without any significant change in the overall sound. The almost continuous rhythmic pulse of the percussion gives the majestic march that certain something.
