Description:
OVELIKON was commissioned by the Musikverein Öflingen for their 125th anniversary. The work begins with a festive opening theme, appropriate for the anniversary. In the middle section, the song "Der alte Öflinger" is used, which enjoys a special status in the village and is therefore known to many. Originally, it is a waltz that is mainly performed at carnival. Here, however, I use it as a lyrical theme to describe the meadows and forests of the surrounding area and the neighboring Black Forest. The lively finale, on the other hand, is dedicated to the hustle and bustle of carnival, which is held in high esteem in the village and is celebrated accordingly.
