The unstoppable bass melody, the effervescent phrasing and the continuous rhythms make this powerful piece a real experience!Here the french word passage refers to passage-work, defined by the dictionary Le Grand Larousse as a rapid sequence of notes, improvised or written, within a musical phrase, deigned to embellish the melody or stimulate the performer'svirtuosity. Passage proposes a theme followed by variations, the final being the last variation. Rhythm, virtuosity and mixtures of tone colours play an important part and ostinato tempi are used throughout.
