During my numerous visits to the Allgäu, I have noticed time and again that the people of the Allgäu feel very connected to their homeland. When I was commissioned by the Legau Music Association to write a composition for their 225th anniversary, I decided on a slow, vocal piece that would musically express this attachment to their homeland.
