Description:
A percussion break is when all other voices drop out and it's a time for just the percussion section to shine - that is how this fun and rhythmic piece opens. It gradually builds by adding voices (minimum 6 players required) in a rock-like feel. The groove is interrupted a few times by the band clapping a response figure. This introduction lasts about 1.5 minutes before breaking into an unexpected Samba feel for the rest of the piece. This energetic latin tune features low voices, an improvised alto solo and lots of percussion. This is truly something different to program on a concert.
