Description:
Gottfried Piefke (1815- 1884) was a famous Prussian military bandmaster. At the age of 20 he became an instrumentalist in the Leibgrenadier Regiment 8 in Frankfurt an der Oder and in 1843 he became the band's conductor. In 1865 he became the director of all Bands of the Königlich-Preußische III: Armee-Korps. Preussens Gloria is possibly the best known of his 60 marches. It is edited here for modern band instrumentation.
