Description:
In September 2024, we will celebrate the 200th birthday of the Upper Austrian composer and organist Anton Bruckner. Many of his well-known works have already been arranged for wind orchestra, but the quadrille, originally for piano four hands, is still missing from the repertoire. This arrangement by Andreas Ziegelbäck fills this gap, inspired by the original for piano. The six movements of the work can be considered stand-alone pieces, but it is recommended that all movements be played during the performance. This arrangement expands Anton Bruckner's repertoire for wind orchestra with a musical gem that has rarely been played before.
