Description:
The "Radetzky March" op. 228 by Johann Strauss Sr. is one of the best-known and most celebrated march compositions. Composed in 1848, this march is characterized by its powerful melody and the festive, rousing atmosphere. Andreas Simbeni's arrangement for wind orchestra, which is designed for flexible instrumentation and percussion, also allows smaller ensembles to perform this work. The Radetzky March is traditionally the last encore piece at the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic.
