Description:
Commissioned by the Music School Bad Radkersburg, Dir. Alfred Ornig BA MA, as part of the project ERASMUS+, LJUBIMO GLASBO, WE LOVE MUSIC, WIR LIEBEN MUSIK.
The suite with a total length of approx. 11 minutes comprises 4 parts, whereby after the fanfare at the beginning each of these sections describes not only the old town but also a special feature of the surrounding wonderful landscape.
1. fanfare
2. Klapotetz waltz
3. Tour of the old town
4. Along the Mur in the UNSECO Biosphere Park
Wind technique: The pedagogical focus here can be placed specifically on air leading and articulation (tenuto, marcato and staccato), the technical requirements are deliberately kept moderate.
Style: In addition to fanfare-like sounds, the young musicians will also find lyrical parts as a contrast. The style of the waltz can be worked on in detail due to the simple musical text, and the first rhythmic figures from the field of pop music are also incorporated at the end.
Extra: An independent (but optional) flugelhorn part enriches the spectrum of orchestral timbres. Each of these parts can be performed independently.
