Description:
“Rapsodia Abruzzese” was commissioned by Anbima Abruzzo on the occasion of the 3rd Music Campus for young musicians, directed by the author himself. The work contains some of the most well-known traditional Abruzzese themes which, after an introduction that anticipates some of the themes, are presented in succession: “Tutte li fundanelle,” the famous “Vola, vola, vola. . . ,” and “Mi t’hi messe na hunnelle,” which are unmistakably imbued with a strong folkloristic flavor. “Paese me,” with its slow pace and melancholic character, creates a stark contrast, eventually giving way to “Lu cistarelle,” which festively concludes the rhapsody.
