Description:
The Dutch composer Adrianus Giesen (1843-1916) received his musical training from his uncle Hendrikus van der Sanden and from Brother Gregorius van Dijk. His talent as an organist became evident at an early age. In 1868 he served as organist at the minor seminary 'De Kuilenburg' in Culemborg.
One of his best‑known works is 'Reginam Nostram', composed for the tenth anniversary of Queen Wilhelmina's coronation in 1908. Dutch arranger Hugo Luijten now transcribed this ceremonial march for Symphonic Band.
