Description:
Many conductors have made it a laudable routine to begin each rehearsal with a tonal exercise. Equally important is the development of the musicians' rhythmic skills. Rhyhmic Warm-ups is a good addition to the weekly over routine here.
Rhyhmic Warm-ups provides efficient exercises for any wind band, regardless of playing level. Combined with 36 rhythmic patterns, the ten modern five-part harmony sequences make a repertoire of 360 exercises, some of which sound like little songs. You can also combine other rhythmic patterns with the harmony sequences, for example from the repertoire you are currently rehearsing.
With the help of rhythm patterns labeled straight eights and in swing, all rhythmic facets of popular music are covered. By notating the same swing patterns in both 4/4 and 12/8 time, the Rhyhmic Warm-ups open up the possibility of imparting some swing feel to even an absolutely classically oriented wind orchestra within a few rehearsals. Latin American rhythms can also be practiced.
Get your wind orchestra rhythmically fit with Rhyhmic Warm-ups! World Set (incl. Score).
