Description:
With the "Romana March," the Ostallgäu composer Ludwig Stechele created a personal musical tribute to his daughter Veronika Romana. As an oboist, she is also at the center of the soulful trio, in which either the oboe or the tenor horn register takes on the expressive melody. After a festive introduction, the march unfolds with a lively melodic line and varied timbres. The lyrical trio forms the emotional climax before the work unfolds through an effective crescendo into a radiant "Grandioso." The "Romana March" combines concert-quality sophistication with catchy melodies and is a rich addition to any concert program.
