Description:
In 1877 Dvorak was requested by the violinist Josef Markus to write a new piece for him. Dvorak went back to an earlier piece and transformed the slow movement of the String Quartet opus 7 into the Romance opus 11 for Violin and Orchestra.This very romantic piece at the same time was a preliminary study for the Violin Concerto, Dvorak wrote in 1879.
