Religious festival of Celtic mythology, celebrated on November 1st. It marked the end of the pastoral year. The spirits of the afterlife made themselves known to people. Christianity preserved this tradition in the feast of All Saints. In the Anglo-Saxon countries, it became Halloween. It is also a festival of fire.
