Schola Vitae is an 8-minute piece of music dedicated to the former director of the UGDA music school in Luxembourg, Paul Scholer. It conveys the message that learning and playing music is a school for life. The piece starts with the popular scales, ascending and descending through different keys and seamlessly blending into each other. Then the familiar tool of every musician comes into play: the metronome. It sets the beat while musicians practice their themes in register with or against each other. However, music is not only about technique and precision, but also about emotions. Music connects people, creates friendships and accompanies them through life's ups and downs. The togetherness in music becomes more and more audible. Everyone works together and pulls together to achieve great things in the end. Georges Sadeler, born in 1988, is a Luxembourg composer and saxophonist of the Grand Ducal Military Orchestra of Luxembourg. As a child, Georges already looked over his father's shoulder while arranging music, but only came to composing many years later through his two professors Marco Pütz and Claude Lenners at the Luxembourg Conservatory. Gradually, he begins to establish his own style, mixing the diverse possibilities of contemporary and classical music. In the following years, Georges Sadeler wins six different national and international composition competitions. Since then, his works have been performed throughout Europe.
