Soaring Above The Peaks is a work inspired by the mountains and the flight of birds. It was composed especially for Arno Bard, a young musician with a great passion for nature, and presented to him by the National Soloist and Quartet Competition on the occasion of his title as Swiss Cadet Soloist Champion. The work is divided into four clearly delineated sections and depicts a musical journey from the morning mountain mood to a final, dizzying descent - between contemplation, ascent and airy freedom.
