Sound in Union was commissioned by the municipality of Küssaberg am Hochrhein (Germany) to the Austrian composer Thomas Asanger. It was ceremoniously premiered on June 17, 2023 as part of a joint concert of the municipality's three music associations. The title is also programmatic: The three music societies joined forces for this special concert and performed the work in a joint instrumentation. SOUND IN UNION opens with a powerful fanfare, before the central musical motif is heard again in a lyrical, slightly modified form. In the final section, the fanfare theme returns and leads the work to a brilliant conclusion.
