Description:
The first floating sounds in the heights of "Atmosphère - Protective Shell" - the first part of the work - already reveal these 4 tones. A first majestic climax describes the beauty of the planet. Lively to lively wood passages simulate the movements of the air masses before a nosedive into the oceans leads us into the second part, "Hydrosphère - the cradle of life". Undulating dynamic movements dominate this part, dominated by a harp solo followed by a flugelhorn solo. The journey continues to the bottom of the sea and finally into it, the third part "Lythosphère - Floating Rocks". A pulsating rhythm builds up increasing tension as huge masses of rock inexorably move towards each other, interlock and pile on top of each other. Elemental forces are expressed at the end of this part, until we finally dive into the liquid lava mantle below, the "Asthénosphère - Sea of Fire". But things are no calmer here: hectic interjections and fast runs characterize the image of a seething mass that is constantly in motion and never comes to rest. The journey leads further and further into the hot interior until we finally reach the center of the planet at the radiant end of the work. The work ends again with the four familiar notes as they disappear into nothingness when played by the vibraphone.
