Description:
A crossover version of the world-famous aria "ombra mai fu" from the opera "Xerxes", better known as "Largo" by G. F. Handel (1685-1759). In the first part of the arrangement, a trumpet takes on the solo part. The incredibly intense and poignant mood that this piece can radiate can be clearly felt and heard. But then it's "clear the stage" for a groovy variation in big band style. The first version was created for the "Big Band des Stiftsgymnasiums Admont", the wind orchestra version was first heard in 2017 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "LJBO Steiermark".
