The overture TELL SAGA tells a little story about the Swiss folk hero William Tell. It begins with a prayer in the chapel by the lake. The rebels ask the Lord for help and blessing. Far beyond the valley, the freedom bells can be heard ringing. A song typical of Switzerland is heard - the long notes in the phrases are meant to create a fitting echo effect. From the mountains, the noise of the marching Swiss can be heard. A signal calls for assembly: The horsemen mount their horses to drive away the enemy army.
