Thank You for the Music, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, is featured on Abba's CD "The Album" from 1977. Before this, the group had performed the song during their Europe and Australia tour in the spring of 1977, as part of the musical The "Girl with the Golden Hair". The song was performed as the final encore at these concerts. There are some differences in the lyrics between this live version and the later studio version. The first recording of this song had a jazzy cabaret feel to it, inspired by Doris Day. The recording was completed, however the group returned to the melody for a new, final version of the song. "Thank You for the Music" is commonly mistaken for being ABBA's final melody, but there would be another few years before their success story came to an end.
