The horn is often associated with hunting. Hunters in earlier times used horns to signal their hounds during the hunt.
In this piece the roles have been switched, and the horn is the one being hunted. The soloist has to escape the hunting low brass and 'gunshots' of the band.
The piece was originally composed for horn player Mats Pettersen and The Bergen Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in 2013, and was transcribed for horn player Bartosz Wawruch and Bergen Symphonic Band to be performed at the Brass Wind Festival in Bergen in 2017.
