Description:
The march "The Waterway" is dedicated to the Telemark Canal on the occasion of its 125th anniversary in 2017.
The canal runs between Skien and Dalen in Telemark, and when it was completed in 1892, it was referred to in Europe as an "eighth wonder of the world." 500 men had worked for five years to blast their way through the mountains. With a total of 18 lock chambers, the route was opened from Skien to the quintessentially Norwegian village of Dalen—a voyage of 105 km with an elevation difference of 72 meters. The sound file is generated from the Music notation software.
