Description:
The White Thrill was commissioned by the St. Anton am Arlberg music band from Austria. The theme refers to the ski race "The White Thrill", which is held every year in St. Anton. The composition has the structure of an overture and consists of a majestic introduction, a fast section, a slow section and a reprise of the fast section. The composition is characterized by a single theme which, with its pleasant syncopated and fascinating rhythm, musically reflects the twists and turns of the track and the fast manoeuvring of the skis. In the introduction, the majestic aspect symbolizes the charm of the snowy peaks and the grandeur of the Alpine mountains. In the slow part, one can sense the silence of the winter nights, in which only the moon and the stars shine. A beautiful and sophisticated piece that captures the audience's imagination.
