This work was commissioned by the Omicron Pi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Beta Alpha chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon in celebration of the career of Benton Minor at California State, Fullerton. Since Mr. Minor was a native Californian, the title is directed to him and his state, El Dorado being the mythical city of gold. 'This land of El Dorado' is the last line of Edgar Allen Poe's poem, 'Eldorado'.
