Enrico Toselli came from a wealthy family from Nice. He received piano lessons from his mother Ottavia at a very young age. From 1897 to 1907, tours took Toselli to Paris, Turin, Pallanza and (1904/1905) Cairo and Alexandria, among other places. Toselli composed his best-known work, the Serenata op. 6,1, which became famous under the name "Toselli Serenade", in 1900 at the age of 17.
