Description:
Enrico Toselli (1883–1926) was an Italian pianist and composer from Florence. Today, he is known primarily for a single work: his "Serenata, Op. 6/1," often referred to simply as the "Toselli Serenade." Originally written for piano, the "Serenata," with its catchy, lyrical, and romantic melody, quickly became very popular. Especially in arrangements for violin and piano, it became one of the most successful salon pieces of the early 20th century. Manfred Schneider has arranged Enrico Toselli’s famous "Serenata" into an effective beguine for wind orchestra. Through rhythmic expansion and the use of Latin American stylistic elements, the originally lyrical and romantic theme takes on an entirely new character. Enjoy!
