Description:
Vicennium (Latin for "twenty years") by Gauthier Dupertuis is a festive concert march for wind orchestra, ideal for both concert performances and parades.
Already the first bars inspire with an energetic motif that creates a light, rousing atmosphere and characterizes the first part of the work. In the contrasting trio, a lyrical, expressive theme with sonorous modulations unfolds, before a majestic return brilliantly concludes the work.
The work was written in 2026 on behalf of the Alphorn Plaffeien Music Society (Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland) and is dedicated to the 20 years of work of its conductor Michel Stempfel. Vicennium is an impressive tribute to two decades of dedicated musical direction.
