Description:
March format. The composition VITA PRO MUSICA, which translates as "A life for music", was composed in winter 2015 to mark the 60th birthday of Ernst Oestreicher, Federal Conductor of the North Bavarian Music Association and Artistic Director of the North Bavarian Youth Wind Orchestra. Ernst Oestreicher wanted a festive work in the form of an opening fanfare and a lyrical anthem. The practical relevance of the piece was particularly important to him in that the compact composition should be able to be performed both in concert and outdoors. The result is a piece that can also be played by very small orchestras and associations thanks to its predominantly tutti structure and well thought-out use of cue notes. This makes VITA PRO MUSICA a safe concert opener and offers the opportunity to present the whole orchestra as a unit. A special request from Ernst Oestreicher was a quote from the Franconian song. Thus, the melodic motif of the first line of the text "Wohlauf, die Luft geht frisch und rein" is a recurring connecting element.
