A 100th birthday is undoubtedly a rare occasion. This is especially true when the well-wishers aren’t just a few individuals, but an entire orchestra. True to the saying "Great events cast their shadows before them," the Oberriexingen City Band commissioned a very special gift for itself several years before its grand anniversary celebration: a piece of music written just for them. The renowned Allgäu composer Kurt Gäble was commissioned to compose a celebratory piece. However, this piece was intended not only to kick off the anniversary year of 2026 but also to accompany the music association throughout the year. The musicians wanted a work that would offer something for every section and could be performed on a wide variety of occasions. The commissioned work was thus intended to become a musical hallmark of the orchestra.
Kurt Gäble impressed with a powerful, optimistic composition that is brimming with energy, passion, and drive. The composer quickly recognized what defines the Oberriexingen Town Band: the association’s tremendous willingness to devote itself fully to its diverse tasks and to make the most of all the resources and opportunities at its disposal. The title for this extraordinary birthday gift was thus quickly decided: WE GIVE IT OUR ALL!
