3rd Place Winner: PAS Italy Composition Contest 2019
This composition is based on the variety of sounds and rhythmic motives of my 'canine friend Zazu'. The main mission it´s to represent all its characteristic sounds such as growls, its accelerated breathing, ear-slapping, steps, etc. and overall Zazu's particular way of barking; its barks from the main rhythmic motive developed throughout piece (5+7+3). This piece supposes a challenge to accept by the player, confronted by the different combinations of metter, extreme dynamics, technical challenges and all the different sounds and effects produced by the snare drum utilizing the different playing areas of the drum, as well as different drumsticks and beaters.
