Description:
A Volcano Mouth unleashes a fascinating, high-energy sonic spectacle for three marimbas, published by the renowned University Of York Music Press. Originally commissioned by the celebrated percussionist Sumire Yoshihara, the work received its world premiere in Tokyo in 1987, performed by Yoshihara alongside Yasunori Yamaguchi and Atsushi Sugawara. Much like an erupting volcano, this extraordinary composition harnesses the full tonal depth and dynamic power of the instrument: from intricate rhythmic interplay to explosive, sweeping cascades of sound, it both challenges and inspires ambitious percussion ensembles. "A Volcano Mouth" makes a thrilling centerpiece for any concert program, captivating performers and audiences alike. An essential sheet music edition for all enthusiasts of contemporary percussion chamber music!
